These are naturally gluten free and super easy, what's not to like about that? Grilled Fruit Skewers with Honey Cinnamon Glaze require no label reading. A little bit of char with extra sweetness from the honey cinnamon glaze turns them into an impressive summer dessert. The kind of recipe gluten free cooks can make at home or on the road!

These fruit skewers, or fruit kabobs if you prefer, can be made in advance and kids can even assemble them as a party activity. If you've never grilled fruit make this the summer you try it. Fruit goes with everything but here's a list of 29 Great Gluten Free Grilling Recipes to scroll through and plan your next outdoor event.

Do I Need To Glaze Grilled Fruit

No, fruit is plenty sweet enough without a glaze. When I'm entertaining I like to add the glaze and vanilla ice cream too. It's the perfect combination and feels worthy of company.

Later in the summer I skip the glaze and simply drizzle grilled fruit (peaches are my favourite) with homemade raspberry sauce. I make the same sauce every summer using raspberries from my garden and after all these years it still seems like a decadent treat.

Reusable Grilling Sheets For The Barbecue

Do you have a reusable grilling sheet? Similar to the reusable baking sheets for the oven, they are specifically designed to use on a barbecue. They provide a clean cooking surface, can be cut to any size you want and the cooked food still gets the nice grill marks we like.

These are ideal for anyone concerned about cross contact on any kind of grill. They're more sturdy than tin foil and of course there's no waste. Mine is a Cookina Reusable Grilling Sheet.

    Get The Tools

The reusable grilling sheet is a fabulous but there are a few extra items that make it easy to throw together a fabulous presentation. Here are a few ideas:

    • The 10-inch bamboo skewers are a little harder to work with but I like them for a smaller crowd where each guest will be served one skewer.
    • For a bigger crowd the 4-inch or 6-inch bamboo skewers work well. They also look nice even with two fruits like pineapple and strawberries.
    • I do own a very basic strawberry huller and I sometimes refer to it (fondly) as the most useless tool in my kitchen. It works and it doesn't take up much space, but I rarely use it. Then I made these skewers and of course it was the perfect tool. I found this high end strawberry huller on Amazon , a step up from mine but I'm not buying it.
    • Every kitchen needs serving trays and platters; round, square, rectangular  and even tiered serving trays. Plain white and clear glass go with everything but I've seen many beautiful serving platters I'd love to own.
    • For outdoors and kid friendly events non-breakable serving platters and trays are ideal. Clear, colourful or white rectangular trays are great or even supersize trays for serious entertainers or big families.
    • Some items will last for decades so when you can invest in items you really love. I found wooden slab trays, compartment trays with lids, colourful melamine trays and on and on.
    • If you like to entertain with "some assembly required" items this 4-compartment appetizer tray is perfect for setting out cut fruit and having people assemble their own skewers.

Platters can be used to hold a lot of food but don’t forget to use them for smaller gatherings too. Arrange the food more artfully and you have a beautiful, colourful presentation with minimal effort.

Let me know in the comments below what fruits you like to grill and what you served with it.
