This homemade raspberry butter is sweet, tangy, and bursting with berry flavour. Spread it on gluten free toast, scones or pancakes for a taste of summer. Whether you grow your own berries or find them at a local market, this recipe is naturally gluten free and easy to make.
Cooking with a seasonal approach is the best way to learn what's in season when. Plant a garden, support local growers, or make friends with your neighbours for fresh berries in season. Give the butter wrapped as a nice gift but save some for yourself. Slather it on muffins, pancakes, waffles or scones and savour every bite.

Ingredients
Simple and fresh always equals amazing! Plan to make the homemade raspberry sauce and butter together.
- Butter - For my everyday style of cooking regular salted butter is okay by me.
- Homemade raspberry sauce - Make both recipes together and you're got options for serving.
- Fresh raspberries - This is optional but heightens the berry taste.
See recipe card for exact amounts.
Substitutions and Variations
Berry butter can be made with all kinds of berries. If it sounds good to you I think it will be delicious! Use blueberries, blackberries, strawberries or haskap berries to name a few.
Get The Tools
I suppose you could mix butter by hand but I'd say an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer is the quickest, easiest way to make this raspberry butter.
Top Tip: Raspberry Desserts
Collect seasonal recipes and repeat year after year. Over the years I've made many special raspberry desserts. Some are more memorable than others but one I make every summer without fail is a fresh Fruit Tart with vanilla cream. The Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake Brownies were a special request from my son who loves raspberries.
